Born and raised in upstate New York as the youngest of a family of 7. His initial job was as a bank mortgage clerk and at night sold Kirby vacuums door to door and played trumpet in his band at local nightclubs.
Soon, he began work at the First Trust & Deposit Company, a commercial bank in New York. His business and banking expertise and attention to every detail in the financing process established him as an industry leader.
Next, in Seattle, he built one of the most innovative apartment communities in the country, Sixty-01.
Then, in San Francisco, Mr. Oldenburg was the founder and sole owner of Investment Mortgage International, Inc. IMI arranged financing for large-scale real estate transactions all over the world, and met with unprecedented success, specializing in hard -to-finance large-scale real estate throughout the United States. IMI quickly earned recognition as the largest, most dynamic, and respected international investment mortgage banking firm. Offices were located in Dallas, Phoenix, Denver, Honolulu, Los Angeles, and expanded overseas to an international office in London. Overall, IMI handled billions of dollars of real estate financing.
Today Bill is the inspiration behind The Spirit of Oldenburg, a biographical project including an book and a first run major motion picture concerning his own life experiences. Bill is currently embarking on his newest project and greatest love, The 3 Monkeys, a World Wide Interactive Entertainment Company, fashioned after the late, great Walt Disney.
